LIfBi presents NEPS at AERA Annual Meeting in Chicago

The Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) presents the analytical potential of the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) at the 96th Annual Meeting of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) in Chicago. From April 16 to 20, over 14,000 interested participants had the opportunity to exchange ideas on different aspects of education research and educational practice in more than 8,000 contributions.

The Upper Franconian Chamber of Industry and Commerce Bayreuth visits the LIfBi

The meeting on April 14, 2015, between representatives of the Upper Franconian Chamber of Industry and Commerce Bayreuth, of the Research Center Education in Bavaria of the Chamber of Industry and Commerce and the management and team members of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) focused on the topic of vocational training and continuing education. They discussed in detail the possibilities and potential of the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) and of project “BildungsLandschaft Oberfranken (Educational Landscape of Upper Franconia, BiLO)”

LIfBi at the 8th Federal Congress of the Centers for Teacher Training at the University of Bamberg

On March 26 and 27, 2015, more than 250 professionals from the fields of research and practice attended the 8th Federal Congress of the Centers for Teacher Training under the slogan “Leadership in Teacher Training”. Alongside questions concerning school administration and educational management, leadership tasks in the classroom were discussed. On this occasion, the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) presented its current studies and research projects with a convention booth.

Scientific Use File of NEPS Starting Cohort 1–Early Childhood–launched

With the launch of Version 1.0.0 of the Scientific Use File of NEPS Starting Cohort 1, data from the first wave of the Early Childhood Cohort (SC1) of the National Educational Panel Study can now be used by the scientific community. Hence, for the first time, data from all six starting cohorts of the NEPS are now available for scientific analyses.

Second Annual General Meeting of NEPS discusses strategic advancement of NEPS

On March 3, 2015, the Annual General Meeting of the National Educational Panel Study held its second meeting in Bamberg discussing aspects of study design and outlining the future development of the NEPS Network including the structure of departments and governance.

Study "Milestones of Motor Development" presented at LIfBi

On February 11, Dr. Heinz Krombholz and Angela Roth from the State Institute of Early Childhood Research (IFP)  presented the study “Milestones of Motor Development” that collects basic data on infants’ and young children’s development of body movement with the help of an innovative citizen-science approach.

Presentation of NEPS data at “Workshop on Educational Data: German and Taiwan Experiences” in Taipeh

1/30/2015
From January 12 to 14, 2015, an international workshop on empirical data of educational research was held with over 50 participants at the Center for Educational Research and Evaluation of the National Taiwan Normal University in Taipeh (Taiwan). As part of this event, Dr. Daniel Fuß gave several presentations introducing the data of the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) as well as their analytic potential and ways of access.
