3/9/2015
With the launch of Version 1.0.0 of the Scientific Use File of NEPS Starting Cohort 1, data from the first wave of the Early Childhood Cohort (SC1) of the National Educational Panel Study can now be used by the scientific community. Hence, for the first time, data from all six starting cohorts of the NEPS are now available for scientific analyses.
Further information concerning NEPS data for SC1 1.0.0 as well as associated documentation material is available online (remaining documents will be added successively): http://dx.doi.org/10.5157/NEPS:SC1:1.0.0

The surveys of Starting Cohort 1–Early Childhood–started in 2012 with 3,500 infants aged 7 months along with their parents. Ever since the first wave, the families were all visited at home. In doing so, extensive theory-based surveys are being carried out with the children (as target persons) and their parents as well as other caregivers outside the home (from Wave 2).
