10th International NEPS Conference

December 11-12, 2025 | LIfBi, Bamberg

The NEPS conference series of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) brings together scientists from different disciplines and from different stages of their academic careers to discuss current findings in educational research. The National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) sets the thematic framework with its seven panel cohorts covering the entire life span and with its broad range of topics – from competence development to educational processes in different learning environments to educational decisions and social inequality to returns to education, and to motivational and personality-related aspects.

For the tenth time, a small anniversary, the LIfBi cordially invites the scientific community to an international NEPS conference. Empirical contributions on all mentioned topics, including methodological issues, are appreciated. Contributions are not limited to analyses of NEPS data. Findings based on other data sources – preferably longitudinal studies – are also welcome. Paper as well as poster presentations are possible. Abstracts can be submitted until September 15, 2025 (see for details: Call for Papers).

The conference takes place on site at the LIfBi in Bamberg. Conference language is English, participation ist free of charge. In addition to the thematic sessions, the program envisages the announcement of this year’s winner of the NEPS Publication Award, a keynote lecture, an evening reception and the new format “Meet the NEPS Experts”.
