Professor Thorsten Schneider was offered a professorship for Sociology with focus on Cross-National Comparison at the University of Leipzig in November 2010 and a professorship for Sociology with focus on Methods of Empirical Social Research at the University of Trier in February 2011.

End of May, the special issue “Education as a Lifelong Process - The German National Educational Panel Study (NEPS)” of the Zeitschrift für Erziehungswissenschaft (ZfE) will be published in the VS Verlag für Sozialwissenschaften. The editors are Prof. Dr. Dr. h. c. Hans-Peter Blossfeld, Prof. Dr. Hans-Günther Roßbach and Dr. Jutta von Maurice.

 

The 20 chapters of the special issue inform about the conception of the National Educational Panel Study, its embeddedness in German research, its main emphasis in terms of content, central education processes and trajectories across the entire life span as well as relevant methological aspects and significant facts regarding data protection.
