Classic regression and alternative methods of analysis: Guest lecture by Kai S. Cortina, Ph.D.
6/19/2015
On June 18, 2015,
Kai S. Cortina, Ph.D.
, developmental psychologist from the University of Michigan, gave a talk on “Understanding developmental trajectories–Methods of analysis beyond the regression paradigm” at the LIfBi in Bamberg.
First up, Kai S. Cortina, Ph.D., presented studies where the assumptions of regression analyses did not hold and discussed several alternative methods of investigation. These examples highlighted specific weak points of classic regression methods, suggesting an alternative method of analysis to get deeper insights. The session ended with a lively discussion among the audience about those suggested alternative methods.
