Linked data package NEPS-SC5-ADIAB

11/11/2020

With NEPS-SC5-ADIAB, researchers now have another data package available for scientific analyses. It combines the survey data of respondents from NEPS Starting Cohort 5 (First-Year Students) on the individual level with administrative data of the Federal Employment Agency (BA).

Analogous to the previous data linkages of the NEPS starting cohorts SC1, SC4 and SC6, NEPS-SC5-ADIAB is a joint project of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) and the Institute for Employment Research (IAB). It consists of the information from study participants of NEPS Starting Cohort 5 "From Higher Education to the Labor Market" contained in the Scientific Use File (download version) as well as information from the IAB's administrative data portfolio, including employee history, benefit recipient history, unemployment benefit II recipient history, jobseeker history, and participants-in-measures history. The combination of both data sources makes it possible to address new research questions, in particular those that require detailed income data over the life course. Further information on the characteristics contained in NEPS-SC5-ADIAB can be found in the FDZ-Datenreport 10/2020 on the website of the Research Data Center of the Federal Employment Agency at the IAB (IAB-FDZ).

Due to data protection regulations, access to NEPS-SC5-ADIAB is only possible during a guest stay at one of the locations of the IAB-FDZ and subsequent remote data processing. Prerequisite is the conclusion of a data use agreement with both the FDZ-LIfBi and the IAB-FDZ.
