NEPS data user number 1,000

10/27/2015
The Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) has a reason to celebrate: Not long ago, it passed the mark of 1,000 registered users of NEPS data.
Data of the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) are continuing to attract great interest from the scientific community. This is now well documented by a specific figure: A project by Prof. Dr. Volker Bank and Susann Langner of TU Chemnitz concerning educational decisions across the life course of students at the transition between school and vocational training—a secondary analysis of the data from NEPS Starting Cohort 4—(Bildungsentscheidungen im Lebenslauf von Schülern im Übergang von Schule zur beruflichen Ausbildung), hit the number of 1,000 registered NEPS data users.

LIfBi provides NEPS data free of charge in the form of so-called Scientific Use Files to the national and international scientific community. At present, there are 640 current and completed research projects based on NEPS data, which are being worked on or have been worked on at research institutions in 17 countries.
