2nd Meeting of the LIfBi Scientific Advisory Board

9/29/2015
On September 24 and 25, 2015, the 2nd Meeting of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) was held in Bamberg. The LIfBi was particularly pleased to welcome Professor Karl Ulrich Mayer (Max Planck Institute for Human Development/Yale University), Professor Kerstin Schneider (University of Wuppertal), and Professor Elsbeth Stern (ETH Zurich; who was unfortunately unable to attend) as new Board members.
Chaired by Professor Robert Erikson from the University of Stockholm, the 2nd Meeting of the Scientific Advisory Board of the Leibniz Institute for Educational Trajectories (LIfBi) held discussions with the LIfBi Board of Directors and with Professor Cordula Artelt and Professor Heike Solga, Chair or Deputy Chair of the NEPS Network Committee. During the public part of the Board meeting attended by Scientific Heads and Operational Managers, short presentations were given to provide current information on NEPS panel progress and fieldwork (Dr. Hans Walter Steinhauer), on data dissemination, data use, and publications (Dr. Daniel Fuß and Dr. Elisabeth Schüller), and on the second funding phase of the DFG-funded Priority Programme 1646 “Education as a lifelong process. Analyzing data of the National Educational Panel Study” (Lena Nusser), as well as on the Institute’s concept for promoting young researchers (Professor Hans-Günther Roßbach). All third-party projects currently situated at LIfBi, as well as forthcoming projects as of 2016, were finally also presented during an afternoon poster session.
