LIfBi presents research and service offerings at annual meeting of Leibniz Education Research Network (LERN)

4/30/2015
On April 23 and 24, LIfBi presented its work at the annual meeting of the Leibniz Education Research Network.

The keynote speech was delivered by Prof. Dr. Hans-Günther Roßbach on “Possibilities and limits of the National Educational Panel Study within the scope of educational monitoring.” Then, Prof. Dr. Josef Schrader (DIE) and Prof. Dr. Hans-Günther Roßbach introduced their plans for a joint longitudinal study on the topic of “Professionalization and competence development in further education teachers.” Subsequently, Dr. Jutta von Maurice presented some ideas for a workshop funded by LERN and aimed at network members on how to handle extensive databases from the field of education research (LIfBi in cooperation with its partners DIW, GESIS, and IQB).

Finally, project PIAAC-L (presented by Silke Martin)—which is carried out in cooperation with GESIS, DIW, and LIfBi—and the PIAAC Leibniz network (led by GESIS in cooperation with LIfBi among others; presented by Prof. Dr. Beatrice Rammstedt and Dr. Anja Tausch) had the opportunity to exchange ideas with the different partners of the research network. The meeting emphasized the strengths of the research network in the field of empirical education research and gave inspiration to practice and politics.
