Eyes on the big picture: NEPS presents itself at Science Day of Metropolitan Region Nuremberg

On July 26, 2013, the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) introduced itself at the Science Day of the European Metropolitan Region Nuremberg. For the seventh time, the event, which was hosted by Coburg University of Applied Sciences and Arts and by the City of Coburg this year, brought together representatives from the fields of science, economy, politics, education, and the media.

 

During the panel “Teaching and learning”, education was discussed as a key factor for the future. In the context of this session, Managing Director Prof. Dr. Hans-Günther Roßbach presented to the receptive audience from different fields the design and analytical potential of the National Educational Panel Study located in the Metropolitan Region Nuremberg. Subsequently, the explanatory power of NEPS findings on a regional level and the use of data for modeling and simulation for the purpose of predicting future changes were discussed. Additionally, the NEPS was also represented in the display area of the event.
