NEPS presentation at second network convention of funding area “Cooperation of Primary and Elementary Level (Koop)”

1/31/2013

The National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) was invited to give a presentation at the second network convention of the funding area “Cooperation of Primary and Elementary Level (Kooperation von Primar- und Elementarbereich, Koop)” of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) in the Gustav Stresemann Institute in Bonn on January 28 and 29, 2013.

This funding area includes 15 research projects dealing with the transition period from children's day-care center to elementary school. As part of her presentation, Michaela Sixt introduced the concept and the design of NEPS and gave a short overview of the Kindergarten cohort, followed by a poster presentation by Doreen Fey who gave a detailed overview of NEPS Stages 2 and 3. The NEPS data in general, and especially those concerning the Kindergarten cohort, attracted wide interest among attending participants because, in many cases, NEPS data can be used by researchers as reference data in addition to their own data sets.
