NEPS attends GSA Conference

10/8/2012

Staff members of the NEPS presented the project and some first results with NEPS data at the 36th conference of the German Sociological Association (GSA), which took place in Bochum and Dortmund from October 1 to 5.

After a short introduction by Dr. Jutta von Maurice, first evaluations from starting cohorts 2, 3, and 6 were presented as part of the ad hoc group “Diversity and Marginalization: Analyses with the National Educational Panel Study”, which was organized by Dr. Reinhard Pollak. Lectures were given by NEPS staff members from Bamberg and by several members of the consortium or external scientists who use NEPS data for their research. The ad hoc group attracted widespread interest.

In addition to this, NEPS also set up an exhibition booth at the event in Bochum. Thus, interested scientists could avail themselves of the opportunity to learn more about the study, its data, and the different ways of data access by talking directly to members of the NEPS project.
