Richard Breen visits the NEPS

3/18/2011
From March 14 to March 17, 2011, Richard Breen (William Graham Sumner Professor of Sociology and Co-Director at CIQLE, Yale University) visited the NEPS.
During his stay he gave three talks. Two ("Comparing Regression Coefficients: Between Models using Logit and Probit: A New Method" and "A Correlation Metric for Cross-Sample Comparisons using Logit and Probit") discussed the problems of non-linear models and possible solutions. His third talk about "Educational Assortative Mating and Earnings Inequality in the United States" suggests that the popular thesis of educational homogamy as an important determinant of between household earnings inequality does not hold for the US.
