Announcement: Annual Meeting of the NEPS Scientific Board and the INBIL board of trustees

The third session of the scientific board of the National Educational Panel Study (NEPS) and the board of trustees of the Institute for Longitudinal Educational Research (INBIL) will take place in Bamberg on May 12 and 13, 2011.

At the event, the NEPS Scientific Board will gather information about the development of the NEPS during the last reporting period and discuss the current research with the management personnel. The meeting of the INBIL board of trustees will contain information about the stage of current projects of the institute.

The basic ideas of the NEPS Scientific Board include the current scientific counseling and the reports, leading to an ideal development of the project in due consideration of the aims set with the investigators. The aim of this institute is to do educational longitudinal research with the aid of external funds. INBIL takes an interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approach designed to integrate research activities and teaching practices and furthermore supports cooperation with external researchers and institutions. Currently, the following projects are situated at the INBIL:

NEPS (National Educational Panel Study)

BiKS (Educational processes, competence development, and selection decisions in pre- and primary school age)

Perle (Personality and learning development of primary school children)

ESE (Educational Aspirations, Social Capital, and Educational Decisions at the End of Lower Secondary School)

eduLIFE (Education as a Lifelong Process – Comparing Educational Trajectories in Modern Societies)
