9/22/2011
Daniel Horn, PhD, from the Central European University in Budapest was presenting his research on the topic "Early Selection in Hungary. A Possible Cause of High Educational Inequality" on September 21, 2011 at NEPS.
He could show that early selection indeed increases differences between students of different status in Hungary. Daniel Horn stated, that the reasons for this outcome are to be found in the different teacher quality and peer effects within the different educational tracks. Thus early selection contributes to increasing inequalities within the educational system in Hungary.
