During his research stay, he gave two lectures. In the course of his first lecture which he gave together with Liliya Leopold, a student of sociology at the University of Bamberg, he elaborated on  "Cultural Capital and Educational Achievement Among Immigrant and Native Students in Israel". The key point of their research was: "cultural capital does not travel". In his second lecture, he presented "Persistent Inequality in Educational Opportunity" and underlined that, in his view, the unequal educational opportunities still remain in spite of fundamental reforms of the Israeli educational system. Furthermore he pointed out that the measuring results in view of the variation of unequal educational opportunities depend in particular on the conceptualization of the educational concept. The lectures were followed by a lively discussion from which both sides benefited a lot.
