Summer School Schedule

The event offers an excellent opportunity to learn specific methods of analyzing the NEPS panel data. The following schedule includes a comprehensive introduction into the framework of the study, the available Scientific Use Files and the data documentation. Participants will be familiarized with basic and advanced skills of preparing the complex data and of applying either methods for covariate-adjusted group comparisons in the context of competency data analysis (Group 1) or methods for the analysis of fine-grained event/life history data (Group 2).

A keynote lecture by Prof. Matthias Studer as well as joint social activities such as a city tour and a beergarden dinner supplement complement the program. All sessions are taught in English by experienced data scientists and researchers from the LIfBi. They include presentations as well as guided hands-on exercises and individual work with the data. Access to the NEPS data and to relevant analytical software (Stata, R, SPSS) is provided via a secure server at LIfBi. Participants are only expected to bring their own laptops.
