Introduction
The scales browser gives an overview of scales used in NEPS studies. The table on the right provides different details of their usage
in Scientific Use Files (SUF) or survey instruments. The frequencies in the different columns read as follows:
- #Total in SUFs: Occurrence of variables in released SUFs using this scale
- #SUFs: Number of released SUFs referring to this scale
- #Total in Instruments: Occurrence of variables in released instruments using this scale
- #Instruments: Number of released instruments referring to this scale
- #Starting cohorts: Number of starting cohorts referring to this scale in released instruments or SUFs
You will get more details about the usage of a scale in SUFs or instruments by clicking on the specific table cell. There you may find
information on whether or not a scale is used in objects (SUF/instrument) that are currently under construction or outdated. It is also
possible to order the entries according to any column by clicking on the column head (ascending order for the first and the second
column, but descending order for other columns).
You will find different filtering options in the "advanced options" section. For example, you can filter by starting cohorts or scale status.
You will also find an option to highlight scales that are used more frequently than a specific threshold (see "Highlighting").
