The Research Data Center (RDC) offers about eight two-day training courses every year at the LIfBi in Bamberg, Germany. On the first training day, usually lasting from 1pm to 6 pm, we introduce the NEPS study in general and the data portfolio in particular. In addition, participants have the opportunity to register for the biometric authentication that is necessary to access our secure remote environment (RemoteNEPS). The second training day, usually lasting from 9am to 5pm, serves to gain a deeper insight into a certain topic. The events comprise presentations as well as guided hands-on sessions as well as individual counseling. The two days can be booked separately, only first-time participants are obliged to attend the first training day at least. Special knowledge in handling of NEPS data or certain statistical software packages is not necessary.
Participation in the NEPS user trainings is free of charge. Standard language is German, but as soon as there is a non-German speaking person attending the event we switch to English. The maximum number of participants is 20. An early application via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org is required. Please provide us with information about your name, your title, your institutional affiliation, and your preferred user training. Please also indicate if you want to visit only one of the two days. Applications are considered in their order of entry. Further information is provided together with the confirmation of your participation.
