Prof. Dr. Cordula Artelt succeeds LIfBi Founding Director Prof. Dr. Hans-Günther Roßbach after his retirement and the two Interim Directors Prof. Dr. Sandra Buchholz and Prof. Dr. Sabine Weinert. "I would like to thank the three directors who were in charge of the LIfBi since 2014 for their great commitment and hard work. They have left their mark and designed and shaped an Institute that can proudly take on its first major evaluation. My special thanks go to the outgoing Director Sabine Weinert, who—with her many years of experience and expertise—has kept the Institute on course in a period of upheaval", Cordula Artelt explains. Sabine Weinert will remain affiliated with the LIfBi as Scientific Head in the National Education Panel Study (NEPS).

The appointment as Director will officially take place on April, 1, 2019. Until then, Cordula Artelt will take over management in an acting capacity. Also with immediate effect, Dr. Ilka Wolter has taken over as Interim Head of Department 1 “Competencies, Personality, Learning Environments” at the LIfBi.
