Forerunner study 2007/08 "Working and Learning in a Changing World" (ALWA)




1 Master sample: Adults (panel entry in 2007/08)

1.1 Target persons: Adults of birth cohorts 1956 to 1988

  • Sample: Sample from the register of residents (with the selection stages communities and individuals). The sample contains individuals of Germany’s resident population from the birth cohorts 1956 to 1988, regardless of their employment status, their nationality, and their knowledge of the German language.

10,404 interviewees (birth cohorts 1956 to 1988), of these:
6,495 interviewees who participated (only birth cohorts 1956 to 1986) again in the subsequent wave in 2009/10
The Scientific Use File contains only respondents who were recruited in the ALWA study and participated again in 2009/10 (n = 6,495).
